Dulci brings an ageless, classic style to pop music, with her smooth vocals and warm melodies.
With repertoire of original songs and updated covers, Dulci is where classic vocal beauty meets 60s pop nostalgia. Fans of Sara Bareilles, Carole King, and Natalie Merchant find similarities in Dulci's smooth and earthy tone. Connecting with people is at the center of every performance. Dulci Ellenberger is an American Singer-Songwriter and recording artist. Born to two musicians and named for a song, she started piano and ear-training at age five. Formal voice lessons began at the age of thirteen and led to classical training at Baldwin Wallace University, where she majored in Musical Theatre and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in Music. Living in New York City led Dulci to learn guitar and write her own songs. Hosting an open mic in Manhattan led to her first project, Now You See Them, a trio that traveled extensively from NYC to Hawaii and Australia, playing residencies and developing their own unique sound. Encouragement from music lovers she met on the road led her to Asheville, NC, where she reconnected with her Appalachian roots and found an incredible artistic community. Since then, Dulci has been touring nationally and singing on the Western North Carolina scene, performing and recording with regional and national favorites like Scott McMicken and THE EVER EXPANDING, Holy Ghost Tent Revival, Fwuit, and Cowboy Judy. In 2015, she recorded her first solo album, produced by Seth Kauffman of Floating Action. The transition from classically trained musical theatre artist to touring singer-songwriter has been a journey to find Dulci's true voice. She tells her stories with thoughtful lyrics and an engaging balance of upbeat and heartfelt. Influenced by the likes of Burt Bacharach and Carole King, Dulci’s vocals sound smooth and easy, while navigating intricate melodies and rhythms seamlessly. Striving to create meaningful, powerful music that’s also relatable, playful, and fun, Dulci's mission as an artist is to create a more connected, happier, and healthier world through shared experiences. Dulci makes memories in real time– and makes joyful music that nods to an optimistic place and era. |
